BATHROOM-- Fit showers and tubs with strainers to prevent hair from going down the drain.
- Repair leaky faucets to prevent water stains and damage to fixtures.
- Do not flush personal care products, including cotton balls and swabs, they do not dissolve and may clog your toilet.
- Never pour grease in the drain, this is the leading cause of clogs.
- Use drain strainers in sinks, especially those without a garbage disposer, to prevent food particles from going down the drain and causing a clog.
- Run hot water down the drain before and after using the garbage disposer to flush waste through the line.
- Clean garbage disposer blades by placing ice cubes in the disposer and grind them up.
- To keep garbage disposer fresh and odor free, place lemon rinds or your favorite citrus fruit in the disposer with running water and grind them up. Keep water running after lemon peel is completely ground, to ensure it is completely washed away.
